What We Flipped In February To Make $6,260

The One Thing That Has Made Us Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

Today we’re talking about what we sold last month to make $6,260 in sales with just seven items!

We started doing income reports on our blog in 2015 after watching some other bloggers do them for their own businesses. It was inspiring to us, so we started doing income reports as a way to show others that the reselling business is profitable and anyone can do this! We’re going to share what we flipped so you can keep an eye out for similar items in your area.

So let’s dive into our February sales!

Item #1  –  Miller Paint Mixer

We picked this item up on a road trip from a hardware store that was going out of business and selling its rental inventory. It was a commercial portable paint mixer that actually sits on top of a five-gallon paint bucket.

Sale: $400
Cogs (cost of goods sold): $15
eBay fees: $50
Shipping costs: $44
Profits: $291

Item #2 –  Square D Panel

I bought a big enclosed trailer full of these and paid $10 a piece on them. The first one just sold!

Sale: $800
Cogs: $10
eBay fees: $102
Shipping costs: $140
Profits: $548

Item #3 – Steam Room

We found the steam room at Goodwill for $200. It’s a personal sauna room, so you sit inside of it, crank it up, and enjoy a steam. We tried to get a lower price on it, but the manager wouldn’t go below $200. It was still a profitable flip!

Sale: $1,700
Cogs: $200
eBay fees: $210
Shipping costs: $196
Profits: $1,094

It was a fun one to do a video with too. A lot of people on social media didn’t think we would sell it. But you would be surprised how many people will search eBay for items they are looking for and want them shipped to their door.

Item #4 – Deep Fryer

We picked this one up on a road trip! It was one of the 14 items we picked across the country for a total of $17,000!

Sale: $350
Cogs: $75
eBay fees: $43
Shipping costs: $48
Profits: $184

Item #5 – Ge Ballast

These were brand new led ballast systems for commercial lights. I got a whole bunch of them, from one of my contacts. He actually had pallets full of these and at the time, I took one box of them to see if I could sell them. Things are on backorder right now, so we’re seeing a lot of commercial items sell well.

Sale: $560
Cogs: $0
eBay fees: $40 + $73
Shipping costs: $33
Profits: $414

Item #6 – Lamp Cover

This was actually a streetlamp. I pulled like six of these out of a dumpster on a job that I was doing with one of my contacts for free. It’s the kind of thing you would see on a lamp in your downtown or city.

Sale: $200
Cogs: $0
eBay fees: $26
Shipping costs: $44
Profits: $130

Item #7 – Chiropractor Table

I found this one on OfferUp while I was updating our Flipper University content. It was listed for $700 and I sent an offer for $350 and didn’t hear back. A week later the seller messaged me and said I could pick it up for free if I came and got it. He needed it gone. All that was wrong with it was a hydraulic line needed fixed, so I went to the hardware store and made that $3 fix.

Sale: $2,250
Cogs: $3
eBay fees: $280
Shipping costs: $125
Profits $1,842

Totals

Sales: $6,260
Fees: $824
Shipping: $630
Cogs: $303
Profit: $4,503

These were great totals for items that only cost us $303. We averaged $894 per item. Anyone can do this business and if you’re looking for help with sourcing, check out the link in the show notes to our upcoming four-week sourcing workshop!

Robert Stephenson

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.

    1. Hi! It looks like you received it December 14th to your inbox. Our system wont send multiple of the same emails so thats why if you keep entering the same address it won’t send it to you. You can enter a different email address, or you should be able to search your inbox and find it December 14th. Hope that helps!

  1. Love your February podcast. One thing that would be helpful is to talk a bit more about how you prepare these large items. From the time you get it to the point of shipping it.
For instance the chiropractic table, how do you handle it by yourself?

    1. Hey Tony! You are in our Freight course right? We have been posting some start to finish shipping videos in the Facebook group more recently. The chiropractor bed required a second set of hands to move it. I had a friends stop by and help me lift it onto the pallet.
