Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.
Can surrounding yourself with positive influence really help you in your business?
Today we’re going to talk about positivity and how you can use it to improve your flipping side hustle.
Melissa and I are in a coaching program right now and we work with a mindset coach. Through that experience, we’ve learned that Melissa and I think very differently but actually complement each other very well. I’m very positive and Melissa is a realist. Together we balance each other out.
Now you might be asking, how can this relate to a business?
No matter what business you’re in, no matter what you’re doing, you need some positivity around you.
Reduce The Negativity
If you constantly have that inner dialogue of, “I can’t do this. I can’t accomplish this. Who am I to do something like this?” you have to combat that with something.
A lot of people may be in the reselling business alone, maybe you don’t have support or your family doesn’t think it’s a good idea and you hear negative talk about it.
So the million-dollar question is what do you do? What if you are that person whose spouse does not give you that positive dialogue or what if you don’t have a supportive business partner?
There are a couple of different things you can do. Most importantly is making the effort to go and find that positive influence in your life. It could be a reseller on the same journey as you or someone on social media. Maybe you delete the accounts that are not positive. And that’s another part of it is removing negativity, too.
Spend Time With People Who Make You Grow
We listen to John Lee Dumas’ podcast and one of the sayings he talks about is that we are the average of the five people we hang out with the most. Are the five people in your inner circle positive or negative? Are they making you grow?
We’re not saying don’t hang out with family or close friends, but take note and maybe limit the time you’re spending with those people or at least try to give some more time to positive people in your life.
Are they building you up or are they tearing you down?
Don’t cut them off, but reevaluate whether they are helping you grow or holding you back. Try to seek out people who can help you be more positive and productive.
We live in a world where almost everything you see on TV is negative, so we actually don’t watch TV anymore. We know if something major happens, we’ll hear about it from someone.
Seek Out Positivity
One of the other things that you can do, is find uplifting podcasts or audiobooks from entrepreneurs who are giving you advice or a positive spin on business.
Get involved in a community. If it’s flipping, join a flipping community. If it’s something else, chances are there’s a group out there full of like-minded people who will provide advice and help you get to where you need to go. There are a lot of great communities to get involved with.
Keep Working At It
Positivity isn’t easy for everyone and it doesn’t come overnight. Like with anything if you work at it you will get better. If you prioritize it and take the time to find positive things soon you’ll be seeing the positive more easily and frequently. If it’s not natural for you, that’s fine. You can work on it and you can get there. You just have to make that choice to not let the positivity annoy you and really you grow from it.
And if you’re flipping, know that you can do this business. You can be a reseller. Don’t listen to that negative inner voice telling you that you can’t. You can do it. You just have to take one step at a time and keep working at it.
