What To Do When The Going Gets Rough

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

Sometimes life or business gets rough, so today we’re going to talk about what you can do when it gets really hard in your business and you want to throw in the towel.

Think About Your Why

Finding motivation is something you can do before things go south. It’s something you probably don’t think about often.

Why are you reselling? It’s easy to just go one level deep and say it’s because you want extra money. But why do you want extra money? Do you want to get out of debt? Do you want to save for your kids’ college? Knowing your why can make it easier to problem solve and keep going with your flipping business when you run into challenges. There will always be things that happen. Sometimes things break in shipping. You might get a return request or negative eBay feedback. Those are the times that you might want to throw in the towel and give up, and it’s important to reflect back on your why.

What To Do When The Going Gets Rough

Know What Motivates You

A lot of people run away from pain. I run toward vacations, fun, and doing cool stuff. That is what motivates me to keep going with reselling. It’s making money, but at a deeper level, it’s being able to create memories with my wife and kids, being able to go on vacations, and spend time with them.

I never left the state of Florida until I was 18 years old because I come from a big family and money was tight growing up. Our kids have been all over the country because of reselling. We’ve been able to give them new experiences and show them pieces of the world.

We’ve made so much money at this business and I know we’re going to have some bad times, or some hard stuff come our way, but I still stay the course.

What To Do When The Going Gets Rough

Think about the things that motivate you and what would be a driving force to why you would want to do this business. It can be pleasure or pain, depending on what motivates you. Maybe it’s avoiding the stress of debt or it could be planning your next vacation.

Take a reflection of yourself and your business today. Why are you in the reselling business?

Think about how you would feel if you achieved your goals, and find that encouragement.

How And Why We’ve Only Had 1 Return In 2 Years

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
