How We Made $1,975 Last Month On Ebay (Only $15 Out Of Pocket!)

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

April’s numbers are in and we were surprised! We were not focused on listing because we were busy doing a lot of other tasks so we knew our sales might be lower.

The good news is our profits are around a 70% profit margin. We are at $1,975 for the month and that was four items that we sold. We love it when we can sell four items and make almost $2,000 at a 70% profit margin. One cool thing is that we only went $15 out of pocket for all four items because we got one for free.

Item #1 – The Stroller

This was an older jogger style stroller that we picked up at the flea market for $15. The was a fast stroller for people who are serious runners. It was 20 to 30 years old but still in pristine condition. It sat for a couple of months on eBay because it was a higher price, but we sold it for $500. I knew the value was there when the right person came along because it was a very nice stroller.

Item #2 – Humidor

This wasn’t a big humidor but they can go for upwards of thousands of dollars depending on where they’re built. We didn’t pay for this. We got it when we helped a person move some stuff at their house. It was a brand name too and really well built.

Sale: $1,000

eBay fees: $135
Shipping: $30
Total profit: $835

Item #3 – Stryker Attachement

We sold a lot of Stryker stretchers in the first three months of the year, and we still have one left. It isn’t listed right now, which is why we didn’t have a sale this month. We had some attachments that we sold to go with the stretchers. I pulled these off the stretcher and sold them separately.

Sale: $175
COGS: $0
eBay fees: $22
Shipping: $14
Total profit: $139

Item #4 – Exercise Bike

This exercise bike was something we got for free from the trash. We were on a walk and saw this bike with a weird design. It was well made and they’re for standing desks. It allows you to work at your desk and pedal while working. It can slide under a desk while you work. We looked it up and the brand was like a $500 Amazon brand. I did have to do a little repair to make and adjustment to the seat.

Sale: $300
COGS: $0
eBay fees: $40
Shipping: $120
Total profit: $140

Total Sales

Some people don’t think you can find anything in the trash of value. That’s just not true as we’ve shown above with some of our sales. You can sell items you get for free from the trash, from friends, or from your home and make a profit. We had a roughly 70% profit margin on these items.

Total Sales: $1,975
COGS: $15
eBay fees: $276
Shipping: $254
Total profit: $1,430

eBay Is Dead, Or Is It?

How And Why We’ve Only Had 1 Return In 2 Years

Robert Stephenson

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
