Get ready to smash your flipping goals in 2024! We are a month into the new year and we are ready to tackle some goals and talk about how beneficial that can be for your business.
If you started working on your flipping goals at New Year’s, it’s a good time to revisit them and make sure you’re still on track. A lot of times people set New Year’s resolutions but they fizzle out by the end of the month. If you’ve already fizzled out from what you’ve been wanting to do, let’s talk about action steps you can take for your flipping business.
How To Achieve Flipping Goals
When you do have goals and you put a plan together to get there, it’ll be so much easier to achieve them. If you have a goal and a plan to get there, you have a trajectory. It makes it so much easier than just saying, “I want to flip more this year. I want to make more money this year.” If you have a specific and measurable goal, you’re more likely to make it happen. Even if you don’t hit the goal, you’re probably going to be so much closer than you were had you not tried to make it happen.
Make Your Flipping Goals Visible
One of our coaches in our flipping group recently posted her vision board for the year which is to make $50,000 in flipping so her family can go on a world cruise. She’s done this before and it’s a visual reminder of her goals every day. She started with an RV and then did one for another trip. She’s making a big goal, and she has her plan all mapped out in a pretty picture.
We challenged our group members to write their goals down and put it somewhere they will see it every day, whether that’s a vision board on the wall or a post-it note on the bathroom mirror.
Put them where you can see them every single day so you can hold yourself accountable.
Build Action Steps
Say your flipping goal is to make $2,000 a month in your flipping business. That’s a great doable number. The next step is to break it down farther and determine what your action steps are?
It won’t be perfect, but set those small realistic goals to get started and then set something bigger. It’s easier to accomplish small goals and then that can motivate you to accomplish bigger ones.
We write down action steps on our whiteboards so we know what we’re working on.
Our Flipping Goals
One of our goals that we set and we probably could go up a little bit on, is to make $100,000 a year in our flipping sales through eBay and Marketplace. We want to stay sharp in our own business so we can help other people on the back end where we’re coaching. We spend between 5-10 hours a week and in recent years we’ve made between $70-$130K just with part-time flipping hours. We typically sell items that 10x our profit. We’re still finalizing our 2023 numbers, but we had somewhere in the range of 40-45 items sell to make roughly $80,000 on eBay.
So to hit our goal of $100,000 this year our action items are to be more consistent and list daily. The more consistent you are at listing, the more sales you will see. I’m also listing my high-dollar flips because I can’t hit my goals unless I have those high-dollar flips.
