Tips For When You’re Stuck In Your Reselling Business

Growth

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

Have you ever felt stuck in your reselling business? Maybe you haven’t been able to get past a certain number or are struggling to get to the next level.

Here are some tips that can help you burst through that ceiling and go to the next level!

Positivity Is Key

This is a big one for us. We talk about positivity every morning when we listen to podcasts while running. Surround yourself with positive people, positive influences like podcasts and videos, and reduce negativity in your world. There are so many motivational books and podcasts out there. Think about the five people you spend the most time with and ask whether they are providing a positive influence in your life. The same can go for the content you consume.

Be conscious of who you follow on social media. Are they helping you be better at whatever you’re trying to grow or yourself? Are they encouraging you? Are they motivating you?  If they’re causing you to feel bad about yourself maybe consider unfollowing those people or muting them so you’re not seeing their posts.

We get our daily dose of positivity while running and listening to audiobooks and we get the bonus of spending time together too! Maybe you can find a way to multitask and bring more positivity to your life.

Find An Accountability Person

After we finish our run, we have a lot more energy, so we come back and film our podcast or record our videos while we’re energized. Find an accountability person, somebody that’s encouraging, that’s going to lift you up, but that you can be accountable to in your reselling business. We have each other so we get to say, “What are you working on today?” and make timelines to have things done by the end of the day and that helps us.

We also have our private members’ flipping group, and people comment that they’re so thankful for the group for the accountability and positivity the group brings. The group we have is amazing. People are there posting and uplifting and helping other people. Find somebody, whether it’s a family member, whether it’s a friend down the street, whether it’s an online person who can be that accountability partner.

Have An Abundance Mindset

We get asked all the time why we’re giving out information for free with the reselling business. Well the answer is because we have an abundance mindset over a scarcity mindset. There will always be more stuff to sell. Even if there are more resellers, there is so much stuff out there.

Just go into any retail store and look at all the stuff in retail stores. Then think about where all the stuff goes that the new stuff is replacing. There’s always going to be great deals out there that we can buy and resell in the used market.

Push Outside Your Comfort Zone

This is huge! We’ve talked about this before if you are not growing, you are going backwards. You have to be moving forward. We’re constantly investing in ourselves to better ourselves and the business. We listen to podcasts, read books, invest in a coach, and this year we did our first public speaking appearance to a room of 800 to 900 people. Public speaking is scary, but we did it. We stepped outside of our comfort zone and we’re better for it.

We actually have a student right now who’s in one-on-one coaching, a high profit coaching program with us and she did her first freight shipment. I helped her walk through the process of it and after she did it, she told me “You have no idea how liberating this is, it’s just amazing that I can do this. Why did I wait so long before jumping into freight stuff?”

Once her mindset changed she was able to get to that next level. It’s okay to not know how to do something, but be willing to learn how to figure it out. And don’t stop trying. You never know what you’re capable of if you go in with a growth mindset.

Robert Stephenson

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
