The Pro Flipper Show Is BACK!

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

It’s been a while since we’ve posted an update about our reselling business. We’ve had a pause for the last couple of months in content because we’ve been busy with some big moves that will help our business.

What are they? Well, the first is actually a physical move. We moved to a new home about 10 minutes down the road from our old one. We have enough property in our new location that we’re also in the process of moving our warehouse items over to it as well. This home has an eight-car garage and a storage unit on the property itself, so it’s a reseller’s dream for storage.

As anyone who has moved knows, moving is a lot of work. We haven’t moved in 14 years, but it was time because we’d outgrown the house. We had it jam packed full of stuff and this move forced us to go through it all, including some of my inventory. There are still some boxes to unpack, but the next step will be moving my shop items over to the new property. Hopefully that will only take 20-30 days and then we won’t have to pay rent for a storage facility.

We haven’t set up our studio yet, but we’ll be working to get that built out to continue recording podcasts and videos.

Revamping eBay Page

I haven’t done a lot on eBay lately and still sold something a few days ago, but I’m getting ready to take my whole store down. It’s time to get items set up in the new shop, get new photographs and videos, and start my listings from scratch in eBay. Right now, I only have about 40 listings up. I try to stay at 100-110 listings totaling about $100,000 in inventory.

My death pile, or money pile, of unlisted items is currently probably over $200,000 to $300,000 worth of stuff that has not been listed, so that’s one of my goals this year. We’ll be documenting the journey to share.

Adding Capacity To Our Reselling Business

Another goal for me is to get help. I’ve always been a one-man show, so I’m looking to hire someone to help get the listings done. I’m not a workaholic and I love spending time with my family, but I don’t want a ton of employees. I’m looking at maybe two or three people who will help us out doing some stuff. We don’t do volume selling, so I don’t need that many. We sell low volume, high value items.

Other Reselling Updates

I’m also working to help my 9-year-old son with a project for his eBay store. He’s been helping me out a lot lately with moving things around, so it’s been fun to teach him skills. He loves to sit by me and learn. We were changing the tires on a trailer at the shop and he asked if he could do it, so I let him jump in and help take the lug nuts off.

Our oldest daughter did a WhatNot show a few months ago, which was a cool experience, so we’re going to let her venture more into that. Her first show had a few sales and she loved it. WhatNot doesn’t really work for our business model for the types of items we sell, because people aren’t on live auctions for dishwashers, but it was cool to see the process. It will be good for the type of items our daughter wants to sell like collectable toys.

Looking ahead, we also have a special guest coming on our podcast who generates over $10,000 a month in passive income. We’re looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and having more podcasts, blogs, and videos this year. Happy reselling!

Robert Stephenson

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
