Last week we had two flips that made $19,000! We love sharing our sales numbers so we can show you the possibilities of reselling. We’re going to break down the numbers and share what we paid for the items, the fees, how much they sold for, and the profit we’re making.
Sharing the numbers is huge for us because we’re not in this business to sell something for $100 and only make $20 on it because that’s not worth our time. Knowing the profit margins is what’s important.
Item #1 – The Range
The first item was a 36-inch range. We estimated high on the shipping so we ended up profiting more than we initially thought we would.
Item Sold: $4,100 ($3,500 + $600 for shipping)
COGS: $350
eBay Fees: $361
Shipping Fees: $382
Total Profit: $3,007

Item #2 – Steam Oven
This is our second highest flip ever. We are in a mastermind that we fly to Boise, Idaho for a couple of times a year. While we were there, we found this steam oven at a thrift store. I bought it for $1,000 and I talked my close friend who lives in Boise into storing it for me and helping ship it if it sold. It actually sold just in time for our recent return visit to Boise for another Mastermind, so I was able to package it up.
This item was brand new, but just had a little dent. I was able to remove the dent and still noted that there may be dents or scratches in the listing. You could tell it was brand new because it had all of the equipment.

We ended up selling this one outside of eBay so we didn’t have to pay any eBay fees. This is why we tell people to cross post. You never know where someone will see your item. We sold this to a business. And it worked out perfectly that the check cleared and we were able to package it up while in Boise. I had to buy some supplies and actually built a box around it to make sure it was totally covered if it was damaged in shipping.
Item Sold: $15,000
COGS: $1,000
eBay Fees: $0 (not sold on eBay)
Shipping Fees: $614
Supplies: $40 (for box around item for shipping)
Total Profit: $13,346
With just these two flips, we spent $1,350, and brought in $16,353. You can do this flipping business too!
