Before we dive into goals for the new year, we want to talk about our last sale of 2022. This fantastic $8,500 sale came through just days before the year ended, and we weren’t expecting it.
An $8,500 Flip
The day after Christmas, we got the cha-ching sound, which was a good one. It was $8,500 for our other TurboChef oven. We sold one earlier in the year, which we had purchased at the same time. We bought both of them on our summer road trip last year.
This sale happened while we were out of town. In this case, I hadn’t put my store on vacation, so I messaged the person who bought the item and said hey, we’re out of town, but I can get it shipped in January; let me know if that’s unsuitable. I never heard back, and I sent it out the day I got back, and there was no issue.
If the buyer would’ve said I needed it sooner, I would’ve issued a refund. Nine out of 10 times, the buyer usually says, yeah, don’t worry about it. Just ship it out when you get back. I haven’t had a lot of people tell me, no, I need it immediately.

2023 Goals
One of our goals for the new year is listing more of our higher-profit items. I have many high-profit items that are sitting and not listed yet, including one worth about $10,000 and another worth $15,000. My goal is to get that inventory up so we can bring some higher profits in. We are just below $100,000 in profit and are only about 5-10 hours a week on the flipping business. With a few more hours, we could hit that goal.
Another goal is to get our standard operating procedures down to a science so we can get good content out there and be more efficient.
