What do you do to get your eBay sales moving?
If your sales are stagnant or you haven’t been on eBay in a while, you might be wondering what you can do to get your listings moving faster.
We haven’t been listing much on eBay for the last three months or so because we’ve been busy with other things, but I got three sales last week and it’s because of some specific actions I took. Whether you haven’t been doing your eBay business for a while, or you just need to jumpstart some sales, here are some tips that can help your eBay sales.

Time On Platform Can Help Sales
The last three sales totaled over $8,000 with one of them being the bulk of that. A couple of small tips moved the needle for us. First, is time spent on platform. That means spending time on eBay. Whether you’re shopping or updating your listings, we think it all helps. This is not official from eBay, but in our experience, time on platform has led to sales. We also have members in our group who have experienced the same thing. Even scrolling through comps can help.
Consider Offers To Generate Sales
On some of my listings I had multiple watchers. I went through and I started sending out offers for $50 off, $200-$300 off, even $1,000 off (for higher dollar items). Because we get our items for such a low cost and we know the profit is there, we are able to build discounts into our price in case we need to generate interest with an offer.

I specifically focus on sending offers to people who are watching my item because those are the people more likely to make a purchase, rather than just dropping my price to the lowest. Buyers who were watching my item, now have it back at the top of mind with the offer. The big sale came in from an offer. It was listed for $9,000 and I offered $7,999 instead. They didn’t take it in the first 24 hours, but they did in the second 24 hours. They paid for it immediately and now we’ll be shipping that out in the next day or two.
I sent out offers on another listing, knocking the price from $399 to $349, but someone ended up buying it for full price. Just the act of sending an offer got the eBay algorithm to work its magic. That just goes to show you that time on platform is rewarded by eBay.
If you don’t have new items to list and you haven’t made any sales in a while, it might be time to audit your listings. Check the comps again, update any bad photos, and make your description better. These are simple things to do to help you make more eBay sales.
The cool thing about this business is you have the ability to put it on the backburner and then ship items out when they sell. You can do it as much or as little as you like and still find success.
