How Do You Handle Pain In Your Business?

How Do You Handle Pain In Your Business?

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

It’s not easy to talk about pain in your business, but today we’ll dive into what to do when it happens and how to handle it.

We recently listened to a fantastic podcast by Alex Hormozi, which got us thinking about this topic.

Conference Updates

We just got back from a conference that had 5,000 entrepreneurs there, and it’s cool to be around so many like-minded people. At the conference, we heard people talking about their business pain points and how they got through them.

When we say pain, we’re not talking about physical pain. We’re talking about financial struggles or other challenges you might encounter in your business. Everyone is different, and it could be dealing with growth, failure, or success. Forty people at the conference shared their struggles, journeys, and experiences. It caused Melissa and I to reflect on our business and journey, and the podcast we heard made us want to explore this topic even more.

Sharing stories about pain is important because they can help someone in the same situation. It can remind you that you’re not alone. Everybody’s dealing with stuff.

Learn How You Process Pain

Everyone processes pain differently. Melissa and I process pain differently.

Several years back, we were about to do training for Flipper University, but we argued beforehand. We’re not perfect, and we do have disagreements from time to time. Now that we’ve worked together longer, we’re much better at handling conflict and conversations.

At this time, we argued, and I said I would not jump on a call with 50 people. Melissa said no, she would do the training whether I wanted to show up. And she did. She didn’t want to disappoint people, so she got on and did the training.

Reflecting, it’s one of those examples of us handling pain differently. We’re wired differently. I wanted to jump in my Lazyboy and watch Netflix because that’s how I take the pain, and Melissa wanted to throw herself into work. So we react to it differently.

One of the quotes on Alex’s podcast was, “Some people let pain beat strength into them, and some people let the pain beat strength out of them,” which we thought was powerful.

You can realize what you’re doing and start to react differently.

When dealing with pain, you can try to solve the problem or let it take the strength out of you. For example, if you’re living paycheck to paycheck like 90% of Americans, does that cause you to come home at night and work on a side hustle? Does it fuel you to that next level?

How are you handling it right now? If you’re trying to grow, how are you handling those struggles, and what can you do to get to that next level? That’s our challenge to you.

Flipper University Updates

One of the pain points for us has been trying to figure out how we want Flipper University to be able to help more people. During the conference, we figured out how we wanted to do that. We’re going to be moving to a monthly membership model. Those already members will be grandfathered into the new model, but before we do that, we have one more round of Flipper University open from September 29 to October 2. Anyone who joins by October 2 will be grandfathered in before the program moves to a membership model.

We have over 1,000 students that have gone through Flipper University, and we’re hoping to help so many more with our new model with live training every month, Q&A, and more. We’re excited about it.

Robert Stephenson

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
