5 Tips To Get Your Items Listed Faster

Listing

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

One thing that holds most people up in their reselling business is the listing process. This can often be a bottleneck for your flipping business.

We are going to dive into five things to help you get your listings done faster because we love shortcuts.

Pre-Write Your Listings

The first one is to pre-write your listings in your notes. Sometimes in listings, I’ll go to the manufacturing website and copy and paste some of the item details from that. If you do that, make sure you’re giving credit to the manufacturer so people don’t think it’s your own words.

It also helps to have your terms and conditions saved so all you have to do is copy and paste. We typically use these on the majority of our listings, so I save it under a note on my phone “Terms and Conditions” and I can just jump in and copy/paste it into eBay along with my description.

Batch Your Photos

Batching tasks can be extremely helpful and time-saving. Switching tasks actually takes your brain time to make the switch, so if you can do most of your photos at once rather than take a picture, list, and ship, it will save you time.

Take multiple pictures. Start with one item. Get 12 pictures because it’ll give the buyer a better idea of what you’re selling. Take photos from all the angles and show any imperfections.

If you do all that at one time, for multiple items, it will make your listing process go a lot quicker than having to go into eBay, pull up the whole app, and go through the whole listing thing. If you have all that stuff done and it’s in your phone in your picture section, it will go so much quicker and you’ll be able to get so many more listings out of the way faster.

For higher value items I definitely recommend people include a video too because not a lot of people are doing videos and it could get your item noticed, especially with a higher dollar item. The buyer wants to see if the item is working.

A good organization hack is to put your photos in a separate album on your phone so all your items are in one folder.

Set Up A Photo Area

Set up an area where you can consistently take photos. Make sure that you have a good photo background, we recommend no clutter and other stuff around.

The thing about eBay is people do not get the opportunity to see the item before they pay for it. So you want to give them the best quality pictures that you possibly can and note imperfections. We don’t hide anything either. Our motto is definitely underpromise, overdeliver.

 Use A Crossposting Tool

You can use a crossposting tool to help you get your listings onto other platforms. Sometimes copy/paste works, but there are a couple of crossposting tools out there that you can try that will save you time.

It has to make sense for your business, so it might be good if you’re doing a lot of volume because being on multiple platforms could increase your sales.

Repetition

The last one is repetition. Just do it and you’ll get faster. The first time you start out on eBay it’s going to take you five or 10 minutes to figure the app out and get your item listed.

But then the more that you do it, the faster you get. After you get 50-100 listings under your belt, you’re going to be flying through these things like it’s the back of your hand. You’re going to know the sections. It’s going to be very quick.

And that’s the case with anything; the more that you do it, the better you’re going to get and the quicker you’re going to get at it.

If you have a death pile at home, consider calling it a money pile. Switching that mindset and framing can help inspire you to start listing. So go get your items listed and make that money!

Robert Stephenson

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
