We just made it to the west side of the United States and we picked up some other cool stuff that we wanted to talk about. We are on road trip finds number 6 and 7! There is also a mystery item that we picked up that we’ll share in the future.
Road Trip Find #6 – Suits
This blue thing behind me was a killer item I could not pass up. We found this at a thrift store hanging out on the side. It looks like an alien, but it’s a suit with chemical protecting materials that’s double lined.
We were with one of our coaching members, and he’s the one who showed it to me. He pulled it out and said, “Hey, Rob, what about this?” And I was like, “Whoa, that’s cool.” And then I saw some other boxes of the same items. There were five of them and the retail price in the store was over $1,000. So I went up to the manager and I said, “Hey, if I took all of these from you that you have, would you do me a better deal?” He dropped it to $85 a piece and we paid $425 total. He also threw in the used one for free. We’re going to list them for $800 a piece and we should sell them for $4,000 total. I could possibly even sell the open one as used for $300 or $400.
Road Trip Item #7 – Arcade Game
The next one probably won’t get sold, maybe someday. The price was right, and I really, really wanted it because this one’s a little bit more nostalgic. When we do birthdays at our house, we go to Chuck E. Cheese every single birthday. We take the kids out of school and make it a family fun day. This is one of my favorite games that was at Chuck E. Cheese. You can’t find them. And I found it on Marketplace for $40.
It is the arcade version of the Operation game. It will take a bit of work, but we should be able to get between $4,000 to $5,000 if we ever decide to sell since they’re hard to find.
