During my stroll down the flea market aisles last week, I came across a parachute harness that intrigued me. Extreme sports interest me, but I have never been sky diving. I went parasailing about 12 years ago, with my own rig on my own boat and it ended up with a trip to the emergency room. Apparently I had hooked up the parasail upside down so I ended up going up backwards. The clip came off the back of the boat and hit me in the back of the head! My friends grabbed me out of the water and I had to go get checked out at the ER. Everything turned out fine but I haven’t really messed with a parachute/parasail harness since. I probably should get back out there soon! 😉
Back to my find last week. I saw the harness and I thought it looked expensive. I wasn’t familiar with the brand and couldn’t find out if it was worth anything, but it looked expensive so I took a chance on it for $10. I listed it this week on eBay for $200 and it was purchased in SIX minutes! SIX! That makes me happy and sad all at the same time. Happy because I made $190 in a short time this week, but sad because if it sold that fast I probably could have asked a lot more for it. I always end up kicking myself for those kinds of flips! ha!
Usually when I buy items I have an idea if they will make money or not, but sometimes I will take a risk for $20 or less. Check out HERE for items that I NEVER buy at the flea market.
Have you ever been parachuting or parasailing? Any fun stories to share? 🙂
