How This SAHM Made $14,000 In Two Months Flipping Items

How This Flipper Made $14K In 2 Months Interview W/Gina Ramirez

Thank you so much for spending your time with us! We would be so grateful if you could take a minute and leave us a review.

One of our Flipper University alumni recently made $14,000 in two months with some great flips.

Gina Ramirez is one of our Flipper University alumni who has been taking some of the strategies from the program and putting them into action, so today we’re going to share an interview with Gina with some takeaways you can implement in your reseller business.

Why Did You Start Flipping?

Gina says she found out about Flea Market Flipper in 2022 through an interview with Side Hustle Nation. Her husband was selling on Amazon FBA at the time. It took her a while to get into the course after joining, but once she did, she was sold.

What Made You Go All In?

Gina joined in January 2022 and then found out she was pregnant the next month, so she didn’t have the capacity at the time to go all in then. About a year postpartum, she was looking for a way to make money, and decided she wanted to at least sell a few items to earn back the money she’d spent on Flipper University. She rewatched all the programs and dove in with bigger value items.

How Did Flipping Bigger Value Items Go?

Gina says she started selling a few items on Poshmark and that was a good way to get started. Then she just decided to go all in on big items because she didn’t want to make $20; she wanted to make $2,000.

At the time, she and her husband were moving out West and she was transitioning from full-time work to part-time so she could be with her son. With only one W2 salary, she wanted to contribute. Gina made it her goal to sell enough items to pay for the move. She bought a few items and sold them really quickly, and the rest is history.

What Was Your First Item?

Gina’s first eBay sale was for a Camaro Tonneau cover. It was her husband’s and was just sitting in their closet. It sold within a week for $800 and was easy to package. The next day, they had another sale for $2,500 for a piece of medical equipment she had inherited.

What Tip Would You Give To Someone Starting Out Who Is Trying To Hit That $10,000 Goal?

Gina says keep your eyes open and just keep searching on Marketplace. The cost of her move was $8,000 and she sold four to five items to cover that and then hit $10,000 shortly after, in just a few months total.

She says at the beginning, there’s a fear that you’re wasting money and will have to keep the item in your garage, but you have to take that leap of faith.

What’s An Obstacle You Overcame To Reach That $10,000?

Gina says limiting beliefs was a challenge in the beginning. When she first joined Flipper University, she wondered if it was too good to be true. Then she tried it and realized it is doable and fun.

What Have You Made In The Last Year?

Gina says July marked one year of really trying to flip high profit items and over that time she sold 20 items and made $21,000.

How Many Hours A Week Do You Put Toward Flipping?

Gina works part-time, but doesn’t keep track of specific hours because sometimes she lumps her flipping in with trips out of town. She drives to the shipping terminal, sources daily on Facebook Marketplace (sometimes two to three times a day), and then makes a trip to the nearest city once every week or two.

Who Would You Recommend Flipper University For?

Gina says anybody can do it. You can be 70 years old or paying your way through college with flipping. Some people do it full-time and others do it part-time. Anyone can do it.

What Would Tell Someone On The Fence About Flipping As A Business?

Gina says to just jump in. If there’s a tug on your heart, and you want to try it, invest into it and jump in. There is a community of flippers that you can reach out to and ask questions. You’ve got people who’ve been through it.

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived here my whole life. I first got into buying and selling items when I was 16 years old, and have been hooked ever since. It has mostly been a hobby that makes some extra cash, but sometimes it serves as my main income as well. I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I find too many fun toys for my family (or myself), and just love the whole process.
